I am a Senior Consultant (Federal Cyber Risk) at Deloitte. As part of the Federal Cyber Risk team, I work with US federal agencies to mitigate cyber risk and threats. I also teach graduate classes as an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at Marymount University.
Prior to joining Deloitte, I worked with Apogee Research, LLC as a Research Engineer and Information Security Officer conducting research, and applying the six Risk Management Framework to systems used for DARPA/US Department of Defense classified projects. I also served as a System Administrator providing support to various systems, applications, network, storages, and cloud services.
I did my Ph.D in Information Security at Purdue University, where I worked on DDoS Attacks, and Cloud Security under the supervision of Professor(s): Victor Raskin, Samuel Wagstaff, Eric Dietz, Julia M Taylor, and Baijian Yang. My research focused on an algorithm that optimizes the performance of packet filters in hybrid networks.
I did my Masters in Applied Engineering at Georgia Southern University, where I worked with Professor Jordan Shropshire, as a research assistant working on the NSF grant project: Securing Cloud Infrastracture. The research project involves finding and exploiting vulnerabilites in virtualization and cloud platforms, such as Xen Hypercalls, OpenStack and Hyper-V. My masters research under the supervision of Prof. Shropshire focused on Hardware & Software Firewalls, Load testers, Endurance Testing, and DDoS Attacks. During my last semester at Georgia Southern, I got inducted into the oldest all-discipline honor society of Phi Kappa Phi.
I did my undergrad in Electronics and Computer Engineering at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Nigeria where I helped implement a department-wide wireless network as part of my final year capstone project.
In the Fall of 2013 and Summer of 2014, I lead the annual War Games held at Georgia Southern University. In 2015, I served as a Session Chair at the 2015 IEEE SouthEast Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL. and also at the 2015 IEEE CSCloud Conference in Manhattan, NY. I also volunteer as a research advisor at The GCSC as a member of the rag-p, rag-i, and rag-t groups.
